A set of study method using to prepare both higher fullerenes and fullerenederivatives has been established in the paper. It is shown that mixed fullerene(F sample)has the character of both high-transmittance and solubility, which makes it becomes theexcellent novel high-transmittance infrared organic material. Therefore, there hasimportant theoretical and practical significance to research the above material in the text.It obtains crude mixed fullerens adopting the volume ratio 9:1 of toluene/ethanolmixture solution to extract the soot by Soxhlet-extraction method in the study. The crudemixed fullerens are separated and purified by way of alcoholic precipitation to get a seriesof precipitations. One pure precipitation(F sample) has been selected using high-pressureliquid Chromatograph(HPLC) analysis to become the investigative object in the followingresearch. The F sample has been measured using mass spectra, elemental analysis,TG-DTA and XRD.As well,it puts great emphasis on studying spectrum properties suchas FT-IR,Raman spectrum,Fluorescence spectrum and UV-Vis spectrum. The structure of F sample containing both crico-conjugated system and not-pairedelections is shown in the study. It has certain polarity and possesses both electrophilicityand nucleophilicity. The F sample manifests the character of electron-poor alkene. So itpresumes that F sample is one mixture which is probably consisted of fullerenes andfutlerene derivative with parent fullerene. As well as,F sample has hightransmittance. Even more it is praiseworthy that F sample is one kind of organic mixtureand has certain solubility in organic solutions using to make film. Therefore, F sample isregarded as the excellent novel high-transmittance infrared organic material which hasfavourable applied perspective.
