With the increasing consciousness of protecting environment and health care, anion fabric as a novel functional fabric which has been widely accepted for its good health protection efficacy has spring up. In textile domains, anion fabric is usually developed by adding tourmaline to its filature solution or padding anion finishing agent on its surface. On the one hand, little has been done on the fundamental and theoretical study of factors affecting anion-generating capacity. On the other hand, the calling criterion of anion-generating capacity test hasn't been formulated. The thesis is to develop a better understanding of relationships between factors and anion-generating capacity, and to guide the application of anion fabrics. To attain the purpose, the cellulose fabrics, which fits for the mechanism of anion generating and has the feasibility under current conditions, is studied. Furthermore, a novel anion-generating capacity testing apparatus was developed to help the formation of criterion of anion-generating capacity test.The work of the thesis covers three parts. The fist part is the development of anion-generating capacity test apparatus and standardization of test method, which is the premise of the whole thesis. The second part is theoretical study on factors affecting anion-generating capacity. And the last part is the study on performances of anion flax and ramie fabrics.At first, a four-bar linkage was designed and the controllable and accuracy of rubbing force was carried out. In addition, the unattached interspace was adopted on the test apparatus to avoid the errors caused by the environment circumstances. It was found that the novel test apparatus can not only test the anion-generating capacity stably, but also can study the influences of temperature and humidity on anion-generating capacity with variations. On the premise of standardization of anion-testing method, the effects of category and particle size of tourmaline, fiber category, temperature and humidity on anion-generating capacity were analyzed to illustrate the relationships between anion-generating capacity and the above factors. The results reveal that anion-generating capacity of anion linen fabric coated by schorl is superior to that by elbaite or dravite; Finer the particle size, greater the anion-generating capacity. In the case of the result of the treatment, linen anion fabric is the better, followed by this order: linen-cotton>cotton>linen-viscose .Anion-generating amount increases non-linearly with temperature rising and tends to saturation and increases approximate linearly with humidity increase. Via the two hereinbefore work, it was found that the anion-generating capacity of anion treated linen fabric was better than other cellulose fabric's, so further work should be done to understand more about its performances. The effects of temperature, humidity, fabric species and specification on anion-generating capacity and reasons of better anion-generating capacity of linen anion fabric were also analyzed. The results reveal that the effects of temperature and humidity on anion-generating capacity are remarkable, and the anion-generating capacity reached maximum at 30℃, RH 80%.In addition, fiber materials, weaves as well as fabric densities also have a definite influence on anion-generating capacity. The molecule structure of the treated fabric was not altered.
