Study Of The Process Drying Lonicera Japonica By Microwave Source And Development Of The Annular Microwave Tunnel Drier

The process If Drying Lonicera japonica by microwave source was studied with the method of experiment. The Security moisture value of Lonicera japonica which is 13%-15% can be achieved by use of microwaves drying. The method of drying Lonicera japonica with microwave is more effective. The relationships of the qualities of Lonicera japonica with the microwave power, the irradiation, distance of microwave source, the drying time and so on were discovered. The curve of process of drying Lonicera japonica was determined according to both the results of experiment and the research for drying Lonicera japonica by predecessors. The annular microwave tunnel drier was developed for continuous operation. It is composed of the microwave generator, the paraboloid microwave waveguide, the cavity of annular microwave tunnel drier, the system of delivering goods the controlling, the microwave restrainer and the frame of the drier.The generator of domestic microwave oven was selected as the microwave source of the drier. The manufacturing cost of the drier is on the decrease. The uniformity of microwave distribution was improved by use of the paraboloid microwave waveguide. The continued procedure of drying goods was realized by use of the annular tunnel structure. The density of microwave power and the operating time were controlled by PLC. The speed of goods pallet also was controlled by PLC for regulating microwave power according to the temperature of the surface of goods in the tunnel, which satisfies the different drying process for different goods. The drier not only is used for the drying Lonicera japonica, but also for other medicinal flowers and herbs, food, other goods containing water.
