With the development of compact spinning technology in the field of cotton spinning and wool spinning, the using of compact spinning technology in flax spinning is rare. The paper dwells on this actuality, and studies mainly the technology of compact-spun flax/cotton blended yarn, the influence of additional twist on compact-spun flax/cotton blended yarn property and the structure of compact-spun flax/cotton blended yarn.The paper rebuild EJM128K ring spinning machine by compact spinning technology on the base of referring documents of flax/cotton spinning technology and compact spinning technology of cotton. Then, discuss the feasibility of compact spinning technology in flax/cotton spinning by spinning 27.8tex and 14.6tex compact-spun flax/cotton blended yarn and comparing their property with the ring-spun yarn.This paper optimizes the technology of spinning 27.8tex compact-spun flax/cotton blended yarn. The results show that property of yarn is best when coefficient of twist is 380, the value of air negative pressure is 3500Pa, draft multiple is1.07 and lattice apron choose import lattice apron whose specification is 1800 lattice/cm2.This paper study the influence of additional twist on compact-spun flax/cotton blended yarn property. Along with increasing of additional twist, the results show that hairness of compact-spun flax/cotton blended yarn reduce; although evenness of compact-spun flax/cotton blended yarn decline but the discipline of it's variation is unobvious; strength of compact-spun flax/cotton blended yarn improve when additional twist vary in a small area, strength of compact-spun flax/cotton blended yarn fluctuate when additional twist exceeds a certain value.In this paper, structure of compact-spun flax/cotton blended yarn is studied by Hamilton migration index, and compared with traditional ring-spun flax/cotton blended yarn. The results show that flax fibers have the trend to migrate towards the inner layer of yarn in both traditional ring spinning and compact spinning, but fiber migration trend of traditional ring-spun flax/cotton blended yarn is more obvious than compact-spun flax/cotton blended yarn, and fiber radial distribution of compact-spun flax/cotton blended yarn is more average. So this structure makes the property of compact-spun flax/cotton blended yarn is more fine.
