Abstract/Summary:
The automatic analytical method to determinate Chemical Oxygen Demand(COD)in seawater was established through experiments by adopting Flow Injection OzonationChemiluminescence. The method was based on luminol oxidized by ozone to generateChemiluminescence, by means of Flow Injection Technology, utilized signal of Chemiluminescencevalue between sample and blank to measure COD. It totally abandoned the traditionalmanual analytical method's disadvantages, operating complicatedly, easily causing artificialerrors, consuming more time and reagents. It can easily realize the automaticonline analysis of Chemical Oxygen Demand in seawater in real time. And it is also akind of green analysis method that is environmental benign, and has good analyticalapplication prospect in oceanic analyzing and supervising field. The structure composition adopted in the method are all established through experiments, including oxidant of ozone generated by ozone generator with electrolytic type, samplingmode by Flow Injection, Detecting System by Chemiluminescence. Based on the structurecomposition, the paper analyzed ozone generator with electrolytic type, includingthe method of generating steady concentration and raise oxidative degree. The oxidationtechnique of O3/UV was discussed, and the experiment results proved that the oxidationcapability of O3/UV is stronger than O3. The paper also analyzed the optimum analyticalflow condition and reagents concentration, including solution concentration of NaHCO3, luminal,CO2+ and analyzed the method of Chemiluminescence detection, data processing and deviation elimination, based on the optimum analytical condition, and the accuracy andlinearity are studied, and the results showed that the method has high sensitivity andprecision, the linearity of standard solutions with salinity are excellent within fullconcentration range. For practical water sample and the contrast between this method andthe standard manual method indicated that the determination results are identical well, andthis method is suitable to determinate the practical seawater.
