The Functions And Problems Of The Communication Of Environmental Protection In China

China faces several environment protection challenges. The Chinese government has made environment protection one of its fundamental state policies and established the concept of" scientific development" to guide economic growth and social advancement. In recent years, environment has been in corporate as major consideration into policy making and institutional reforms. The general public increasingly focuses their attention on environment issues and the mass media plays a critical role in educating and raising awareness. It can be argued that Chinese environment protection has developed into its current status mainly, as a result of mass media's ongoing coverage of environment issues.In this paper the author makes comprehensive research on the development of environment protection communication. In the first chapter, the rising of environment protection communication and its oversea and domestic development are expatriated. Besides the author tries to define environment protection communication based on the research. In the second chapter, the author classifies environment protection communication as character form, media form, literature form and newly born forms by its different carrying forms. And in this chapter the author made comparisons among their unique characteristics and analyzed the roles they are playing in environment protection communication. Through the analysis the readers can have a general view of environment protection communications' carrying forms.In the third chapter, based on the herebefore introduction of environment protection communication, the author analyzed enviroment protection communication's functions from different aspects as its superising backgrounds, integrating communication, mobilization, education and entertaining. Then the problems as environment protection communication workers individual capability, the academic training technique, durative environment protection communication and its feed back mechanism are discussed in the paper. In the last chapter, the author gives suggestions for solving the problems brought above and made expectations for environment protection communication's further development in the future.
