With the constant development of economy in China, energy and environment problems become more and more serious. Facing to low-rate utilization in energy and the contaminated graveness in environment, several kinds of clean coal generation technology researches had taken great progress in our country. The combined cycle generation based on gas turbine is most popular.The poly-generation system, by making synthetic gas with the gasification gas and the pyrolyzation gas, combines hydrogen-rich gasification gas and carbon-rich pyrolyzation gas. With the reforming technology, CO2 in gasification gas and CH4 in pyrolyzation gas are transformed into synthetic gas in this system. Also the components of row coal gas are variable with operation conditions. To insure the stable electric power output, the caloric value of gas in the gas turbine must be adjusted according to the operation conditions and the fuel gas must be burned stably, sufficiently and low contaminative. It is necessary to research the combustion characteristic of row coal gas. The author studies the combustion characteristic and forms of gas fuel. Two combustion forms (diffusion and premixing combustion) are compared from the structure of flame and the factors which influences the flame transmission velocity. On this base, the thesis explains the combustion mechanism of hydrogen, carbon monoxide, methane by chain reactions, which are main components of raw coal gas. After that, the experimental parameters (component, pressure, temperature, etc) have been ensured.According to the components of row gas, the author carried on the calculation for furnace and burner. Then the measuring instruments for the flue gas and temperature set are selected according to the calculation results, and the experimental system is designed which adapts to basic combustion characteristic research of row coal gas. There is a staged furnace that the author designs by himself, which is simple, easy to be produced, assembled and disassembled. The ratio of height to inner diameter is easily changed. So the flexibility and stability are improved greatly.In the experiment, researches on combustion characteristic of row gas have been done at different excess air ratio. The experiment results indicate that: changing excess air ratio will affect row gas burning temperature direction and production severely, reasonable excess air coefficient can increase combustion temperature and enhance the efficiency of row gas.During the experiment, the author finds the deficiency of experiment system, brings suggestions.to improvement from air source, furnace and burner, measurement system, and prospects to the next researches on row gas combustion characteristic.
