As an important precision machining method, fine boring plays an import role in batch production. In ordinary boring, during the processing, the cutter wears. For the need of small machinery allowance and size precision, it's not appropriate to change the cutting tool frequently. For ensuring the processing quality and efficiency, the boring power head with compensation function is broadly used in batch production. Domestic enterprises apply the foreign technology for the fine hole boring product line now. It's difficult to maintain and repair. The price is high and maintenance cycle is long.Aiming at the machining of precision boring on automatic line, this paper develops system about error prediction and compensation for fine boring. Through the online measuring of the processing error and relevant control theory and algorithm, the system predicts processing error online and offers additional input for mechanical process. Consequently, it controls the system process error (the cutter wears) and the error at random. It makes dimension dispersal error reduce. Consequently, it solves the problems of precision stability and automatic tool adjustment in precision boring on automatic line.Firstly, this paper introduces the source and purpose of the subject. From the two main respects of the system: compensation boring head and error predict method, it summarizes the research survey and development trends of the system. Simply introduces the research survey and development trends of the reliability engineering.Secondly, the control device of error predict and compensate is studied. The schematic diagram is given. It sets up systematic system structure and analyses the function of each module. Then, this paper introduces the control system from aspects of hardware and software in detail. It studies the upper and lower limit control method of dimension error according to dimension-error control theory.And then, according to the principle and method of reliability. FTA(Fault Tree Analysis)is set forth to the system. The fault tree is set up for every sub-system. The Semanderes arithmetic is used to carry out the qualitative analysis and the minimal cut sets are established. According to the analysis of fault tree, security policy for the enterprise is made based on the important bottom event and reliability grade rule.At last, summarize this full paper, and further works of the system are pointed out.
