The potential at the exterior of the offshore structures with corrosion protection system must be in a certain number range in order to effectively protect the offshore structures from the corrosion. Consequently, it is necessary to monitor the distribution of the protection potential at the exterior of the offshore structures. Also, the corrosion protection status analysis of the offshore structures according to the distribution of the protection potential is of great significant. Current corrosion protection monitoring technique has the following defects: At first, low level of visualization; secondly, the corrosion protection evaluation from experts according to the international rules can hardly exactly and comprehensively present the corrosion protection status of the whole structure.The paper studies how to realize and apply the Virtual Scene Simulation System to monitor the corrosion protection status of the offshore structures. Model data is read after parsing the 3DS format file. The data preprocessing method is also addressed and applied to exactly redisplay the 3D model with texture information by programming in the OpenGL. Based on this, the paper realized to translate,rotate,scale the model with mouse, which meetthe requirements of Offshore Structures Corrosion Protection Monitoring System.The paper designs expert system based on the corrosion protection knowledge base which is composed by the numerical simulation results. With the expert system, the corrosion protection status of the offshore structures can be evaluated according to the protection potentials at the monitoring targets. Meanwhile, the paper also researches how to express the evaluation result with the protection potential coloring contour.At last, the paper discussed the developing scheme of Visual OPCP. With object-oriented method, the paper develops a system under VC++ 6.0 which can provide the virtual simulation monitoring scene, manage the data through database, analyze and express the calculation results. At the same time, the system has the Single Document/Multi View structure which can greatly improve the running efficiency. The paper also designs the collecting equipment. In conclusion, the whole system can precisely collects and analyzes the protection potential at the exterior of the offshore structures, provides exact evaluation result of the whole offshore structures.
