International Climate Regime Of Post-Kyoto Age

Climate change has become one of the most far-reaching global environment problems, which is also the most important and challenging issue presented before human beings all in the world. How to decrease the emission of Greenhouse Gas has been the focus of worldwide climate negotiations and environment policy research. After arduous negotiations for years, United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and Kyoto Protocol, both the significant treaties dealing with climate change, have gone into effect. The signings of them have laid a solid legal foundation for the international climate regime (ICR). Moreover, they have been the guide to handle the climate change.However, climate change is not only an issue based on environment, which concerns the international politics and economic relationships more over. Recently, whenever the international conferences were held, climate change would be the topic almost. Post-Kyoto age is arriving. Negotiations and arguments on climate are more and more critical. International society pays attention to how about the future of the ICR extensively. With the construction of Post-Kyoto age ICR as the core; this thesis expounds the relative issues.This thesis has four chapters and forty sections.In chapterâ… , the author summarizes the basic contents of ICR, including section I: general situation of climate change and ICR; section II: forming and evolving of UNFCCC, and its main contents and characters; section III: relative substance about Kyoto Protocol, such as forming, effectuated, major contents and historic influence both in international politics and economic, etc.In chapterâ…¡, starting with the inherently deficient and predicament in implement of Kyoto Protocol, the author analyzes lots of defects of current ICR, introduces chief subjects and achievements on United Nations General Assembly about Climate Change, which was held in Indonesia Bali, then analyzes the new international climate negotiation situation of Post-Kyoto age.Chapterâ…¢is the emphasis. It is composed by three parts, which is about the author's ponders and suggests on the construction of the ICR in Post-Kyoto age.
