Pinch technology is a useful method of systematic energy-saving. It combines the theory of thermodynamics and systematic engineering to know the using and recycling of systematic energy of the process and optimize them. Pinch technology is uncomplicated, and gives effective result. It is popular in energy industry. So a study on the computer aided design work for heat exchange network has been made on the basis of pinch technology, synthesis method of optimal heat exchanger network and J2EE and Applet technology. The prototype of cooperating design system for heat exchange network which bases on the J2EE model is developed.First the knowledge of pinch technology such as T-H composite curve chart and pinch is introduced. Second the method for calculating pinch-Table method, the design process of heat exchange network and the method of the optimization of the heat exchanger network are introduced too. Third the J2EE platform technology, applet technology, the communication between Applet and Servlet,the cooperating design technology are analysed.Fourth the main function of the system is introduced and the framework of the system, the work process and the design of each function module are explained. Fifth the detail realization is introduced and the function and operation of each page are explained.Finally the work which has been done is summed up and the way of further research is suggested.This system has the function as follows: calculating pinch, plotting T-H composite curve chart, giving result of sketch chart of heat exchanger network, modifying heat exchanger network and the analysis networks and the ability of cooperating design. This system has the characteristic of easily maintaining and upgrading good graphic function, good interactivity and easy operation. Its use in the design of heat exchanger network will greatly make this process convenient.
