At present, Emulsion explosives are playing an important role in industrial explosives of our country. The density parameters of emulsion explosives are directly related to the reliability of detonation, the performance of detonation as well as using and storing safety. Under current technical conditions, the density of emulsion explosives is mainly measured by off-time method which is sampled manually. Obviously, there is a delay of off-time for guiding practical production.By contrasting and analyzing current density measuring methods, and taking practical situation of industrial emulsion explosives production into account, in this paper put two wholly new real-time density measuring methods of emulsion explosives are put forward, such as ultrasonic method and dynamically weighing method. The feasibility of the methods mentioned is also analyzed.A proper weighing system which is based on ready-made PLC controlling system is required to make real-time measurement and control of the density of emulsion explosives come true. By modifying the weighing system, the density precision of dynamically weighing method is about 1% that reaches requirement.By measuring velocity of sound in samples with different densities, there exists linear relationship between sample density and corresponding velocity of sound in a certain range. It's feasible to measure the density of emulsion explosives by ultrasonic method. The experiments indicate that the precision of measurement is affected by temperature. Velocity of sound decreases 1% as temperature increases 5℃. At the same time, the frequency of ultrasonic impacts the valid distance of measurement. So choosing the frequency of ultrasonic is in dependednt on practical condition.By comparing the two methods, it is considered that weighing method is suitable for product line transferred by tube, and ultrasonic method is suitable to product line transferred by strap. But ultrasonic method is still required to make more further researches. |
