Foundry polyurethane binder comprises componentâ… , a polyhydroxy component whosemain component is benzylic ether phenolic resin, componentâ…¡, a polyisocyanate, and acatalyst. There are two technics that named Isocure process and Pepset resin according to theharded manner. Cold-box process were used widely because its high productivity and goodcasting since it was invented and extended by America Asland Company. It is one of goodcasting process that is studyed in and abroad, which is considered as having good future.Pepset resin is used widely because of its excellency such as the ratio between bench life andstripping time is bigger far than other resins, there is no needless producetion that caninfluence the harded speed in harded reaction, the harded state between obturation or open arealmostly sameness, the harded speed can freewill adjust. However, there is no reports aboutsynthesizing this resin, the kinds and the composes of the solvents, the technics that arefetched from abroad are short in the kinds of the solvent because they are not suited in ourcountry and so on which blocks the developtment of the foundry in some extent. Foundrypolyurethane binder also has some disadvantages that mainly contain toxicity ofpolyisocyanate, the catalyzer triethyl amine and aroma solvent, deficiency in the humidityresistance in manual applications. In order to solve the deficiences of foundry polyurethanebinder, we studied some aspects listed below,â‘ Confirm the better condition of synthesizing the benzylic ether phenolic resin. We usedsingle complication experiment to confirm the better conditions which contains the technics ofsynthesizing the benzylic ether phenolic resin, the kinds and ratioes of material, thetemperature and time of reaction, and so on. Inspect the structure of benzylic ether phenolicresin that is composed in better conditions;â‘¡Debase the toxicity of the solvent. We used orthogonal experimentations whoes scaleguideline contains strength of phenol resin, consistent of solvent consistent between solventand resin to confirm the kinds and ratioes of low-noxious and noxious solvents;â‘¢Prolong the bench life of resins in Isocure process. Review the factors that influence thebench life contains the concentration of metal ionic, composes of solvent and retardants;â‘£Improve the humidity resistance of foundry polyurethane binder through technics ofchanging the kinds, dosages or appending manner of substances in humidity condition. And we are success. The resins that we have synthesized are good at strength, low-toxicityor innocuity, long bench life, and humidity resistance. And the IR reveal the resins thatsynthesized in the better conditions are benzylic ether phenolic resin.
