With the increasing global competition and the rapidly developing information technologies, modern companies have to face the difficult problem to promptly meet the market requirements with lower cost and higher qualities. At present, the competition among enterprises has been corresponding changes to the digital applications between enterprises of the competition, based on the digital product design reusable technology has become one of the important methods to improve the competitiveness of enterprises.The paper discusses the application in the garment industry. On the basis of the new requirement of garment 3D design, intelligent technology, computer technology, the paper studies product design reusable technology (PDRT) in the garment field and puts forward a Garment Product Design Reuse System (GPDRS) based on PDRT.Firstly, face to the garment design, the paper studies PDRT and its computer realizations. The paper presents the content of the Garment Product Design Reuse Information (GPDRI); classification system; GPDRT features and the way of combined CBD with GPDRT. Secondly, as computer prototype by garment examples, the paper research on the garment product design modeling technology, it presents the modeling method of combining BNF description, template-based interface design and parametric modeling technology.Thirdly, by intelligent technology, the paper realized the garment product design information acquisition technology, including style characteristics method of extracting information, intelligent analysis recognition algorithm and structure characteristics modeling strategy.Fourthly, the paper puts forward the garment product design searching technology: the searching algorithm of two stages fuzzy matching and further enhances the retrieval efficiency of GPDRS.Fifthly, the paper sets up GPDRS on the basis of the research above and the existing Product Design Reuse Systems in other field. GPDRS is focused on the Garment Industry.Finally, to achieve the requirement of 3D visualization on the computer after product design, reuse, splicing and testing of the entire life cycle, the paper concentrates on the 3D display modual of the GPDRS, using the Sun Java 3D launched this powerful 3D graphics interface to realize the parameterized 3D body-forms and 3D garment. On the basis of 3D body-forms and 3D garment, the system realized 3D visualization.GPDRS is a new way to apply the PDRT to the Garment Industry. If further study is made, GPDRS will be a good platform for garment design in the garment companies.
