This paper first analyzes the current situation of glass products at home and abroad andthe present situation of the mould design, combining with some domestic manufacturer actualoperation to develop a set of special glass mould CAD system G.B.M CAD which used UG asa platform and VC++for his programming language. By loading UG secondary developmenttools which is concluded UG/Open API、 UG/Open GRIP,、 UG/Open MenuScript andUG/Open UIStyler module is used to develop a parametric design system of glass productsmould this system is seamless integrate with UG. It makes the design of glass bottle dies moreautomatically.Analyzed the characters of UG secondary development tools UG/Open, and theenvironment developing process the method and the related developing technology werestudied.The detailed study has been made out the modules of secondary development tools.UG/Open API, UG/Open GRIP, UG/Open MenuScript and UG/Open UIStyler appliedprinciples and key using methods. It has established a complete secondary developmentprocess, and matches the related technology together by VC++language.This paper focused on the method of mould for glass bottles manufacturing proces, thestructural fundamentals of the mold parts.And set up a computer-aided design system forparametric design of a glass mold at last.To make the standard parts integrated into the module in support of the reuse librarytechnology.Meanwhile, some structures which are complex and used high frequency can becreated by user defined features, then coexist in the UDF library and used as a subsystem inthe mold design system which build up above.
