Glue-spreading cotton is a new kind spin material, which takes place of the down,wool fetal,wadding,wire cotton quilt and is used to made for the warm-keep things such as the coat, quilt,bedspread and so on,because of its tenderness and bath endurance. Its physics performance depends on the characteristic of the fibre, spraying technics and the capability of the adhesive.Nowadays,there are many kinds of adhesive,but the national products do not well on the handle and elasticity. The top grade glue-spreading cotton has to use the expensive import material such as the ETERSOL 1619 from Taiyan,H806 from USA. Usually the mainly used adhesive are pure acrylic emulsion, vinyl acetate-acrylate emulsion. Although in the capability,the pure acrylic emulsion is best,however,according to the price,the pure acrylic emulsion is most expensive. Actually we often use the styrene-acrylate emulsion as the adhesive because of its cheap price and good performance. So it is of great theory meaning and appliance value to investigate on the compound of the good performance styrene-acrylate emulsion. Therefore,we carry out the research on the manufacture of the good-performance glue-spreading cotton adhesive.This paper respectively uses the pre-emulsification technology,the seeded emulsion polymerization method to make the good performance styrene-acrylate emulsion, discusses the effect of the monomer,amount of emulsifier,amount of initiators,amount of crosslinkers, reaction temperature and time,stirring rate made to the performance of the styrene-acrylate emulsion,and the optimum reaction condition is determined on the basis of the study; I) the pre-emulsification method:the mass ratio of soft to hard monomer was 1:1, the amount of AA, emulsifier, initiator, and crosslinkers was 2%,3.8%,0.8% and 2%,respectively. Reaction temperature was controlled between 85 and 90℃,reaction time is 95 min, the stirring rate is 350 r/min-1, pH buffer was chosen as NH3H2O and its amount was 0.1%,the film-forming assistant was diethylene glycol diethyl ether and its amount was 2%. II) the seeded emulsion polymerization method: the mass ratio of soft to hard monomer was 30:70, the amount of AA, emulsifier,initiator,and crosslinkers was 2%,3.6%,0.6% and 2%,respectively.Reaction temperature was controlled between 76 and 85℃,reaction time was 75 min,the stirring rate was 300 r/min-1, pH buffer was chosen as NaHCO3 and its amount was 0.3%.According to the experiment, the seeded emulsion polymerization method is the better.this paper makes out the styrene-acrylate emulsion with core-shell structure, and the optimum reaction condition is determined on the basis of the study,that the mass ratio of core to shell monomer St/MMA/BA was 2/1/1, the amount of AA,emulsifier,initiator,and crosslinkers was 2%,3.6%,0.6%,2%,respectively. Reaction temperature was controlled between76 and 85℃, reaction time was 75 min,the stirring rate was 300 r/min-1, pH buffer was chosen as NaHCO3 and its amount was 0.3%.Also the paper reviews the adding way of shell monomer, the effect of the emulsifier in the seeded emulsion polymerization, and the effect of the functional monomer respectively.
