China is one of the countries with high consumption of wood, however, the forest resource is relatively poor, besides the eco-environmental situation is not optimistic. Therefore, recycling of the wood waste material and developing circular economy plays an important part in the processing and utilization of wood. Waste particleboard is an important kind of wood waste material, while the research on recovery of waste particleboard has just started.The dissertation researched on the technology of water-thermal treatment for waste particleboard to gain the recycled particles. It mainly consists of two aspects. Firstly, in order to obtain the best parameters of water-thermal treatment for waste particleboard, the best way was measured water absorption, thickness swelling rate of the particleboard and screening value of wood particle, so as to analyze the impacts of the factors on experiment results. These factors include the temperature of water; the processing time; and the particleboard size. Secondly, it considered that under the same condition producing the particleboard by pressing the new and the recycled wood particles in different proportions. All those measures aimed at exploring the best ratio and the ideal technological conditions of recovering of the recycled particles.Following main conclusions are obtained:(1)The results of the influence of water temperature on water-thermal treatment was significant during the water-thermal treatment process. It was difficult to hydrolyze adhesive when the water temperature was low. The hydrolyze speed of adhesive increases remarkably as the water temperature rises, besides the soaking effect of particleboard has a great improvement. The particleboard size has no significant influence on the time of water-thermal treatment during the whole process.(2)The results of the research showed that with the increase of the ratio of recycled wood particles, the static bending strength and the internal bond strength of particleboards increase firstly but then decrease; the elastic modulus decreases; the thickness swelling has no evident change. While various performance indexes of the particleboard were considered comprehensively in the research, a proper ratio was obtained. And the particleboard which is produced under the given ratio could meet the national standard.(3)Compared to the shape of the recycled wood particles which produced by method of mechanical grinding, the shape of recycled wood particles that produced by means of water-thermal treatment was better, and the various performance indexes of particleboard that produced by the latter method were superior as well. Therefore, water-thermal treatment is more suitable for recycling of the waste particleboard.
