The thesis describes how to design and develop the remote monitor system for the Magnesium die casting plant according with the requirements for integrative management of die casting plant.After analyzing the theory of remote monitoring, the performance requirements for remote monitor system of plant machines were suggested. The control system of the equipments in the plant and the arrangement were described. Based on the communication capability of the system, the control system structure of installing PCI board on the teminal PC to realize the communication of PLC and master machine was adopted by comparing several different available solutions. The machines and the terminal PC were regarded as the nods in the system. As owning the advantages of good user interface and perfect performance, the industrial configuration software"KingView"was used as the tool to develop the monitor interface.The Controller Link communication net was completed by installing the communication modules in the machines and PCI board in the teminal PC. They were installed separately according on the different specifications of the communication modules. The network parameters and node addresses were modified according to the quest of communication distance and speed. In this way, the equipments in the plant and the terminal PC were all in the network. On the base of the request of transmission and electromagnetic shield, special shied twisted-pair was adopted to complete the construction of the network. It was installed in the steel tube.The industrial configuration software"KingView"was used to structure the terminal interface system. It realized the remote monitor function. The die casting parameters which influent the production had been analyzed in the text. These monitor pictures and the functions were designed according the request of the control system. The die casting machines and the master machine can communicate through the network. KingView would use the Controller Link Fins communication protocol to visit the PCI board which setted in the terminal PC. Then these nodes in the plant could be visited through the PCI board. In this way the data can be transmitted promptly.The casting quality and production are advanced after adopting the remote monitor system. The remote monitor system has good extendable and compatibility. It can be used for reference to the similar system.
