The chemistry of organic-inorganic coordination polymers and supramolecular complexes has recently become area of increasing interest. Self-assembly of organic ligands and inorganic metal ions is one of the most efficient and widely used approaches for the construction of organic-inorganic composite materials. Recently, remarkable progress has been made in the area of molecular inorganic-organic hybrid compounds. The synthesis and charaterization of infinite one-, two-, and three-dimensional networks have been an area of rapid growth.In this dissertation, a series of novel double schiff-base ligands end-capped by cyanophenyl with Ag(I) salts were studied; totally 3 new organic-inorganic coordination polymers were synthesized and elucidated by a number of analytical techniques, such as IR, 1H NMR, elemental analysis, single-crystal X-ray diffraction.1. The syntheses of double Schiff-base ligandsIn this dissertation, we have synthesized six double Schiff-base organic ligands L1-L6, which were used the synthese method of one-step condense reaction. Their structures were characterized by IR, 1H NMR, elemental analysis.2. The coordination chemistry of Schiff-base ligands and Ag(I) salts.Reactions of novel symmetry double Schiff-base ligands L1, L6 with AgSbF6,AgPF6,AgClO4 afforded 3 new coordination polymers: {Ag(L1)SbF6}n (1), {Ag(L1)PF6}n (2), {Ag(L6)ClO4}n (3). Their single crystal structures were investigated in the solid state.3. The organic-inorganic coordination polymers reported herein are the novel contents in the field of organic-inorganic composite material. Moreover, it also offered a new approach for the formation of novel supramolecular networks with interesting physical properties.
