Ozone is a pollution-free oxidant in very wide applications. It can kill all of the germ and most of the virus. It takes effect faster than Cl2 and leaves no remains and no following pollution. It is better than those conventional oxidant, attracting more and more attentions on it.Surface discharging is a new method of ozone generating, the discharging is along the surface of the dielectric and lead to the appearance of the plasma. The productivity of the ozone can be controlled by altering the power and the air, and the efficiency of the controlling depends on the electrode.The author analyzes the mechanics of ozone generated by corona discharge and the influence of all the elements of the generator, especially of the dielectric on the result, concludes that heightening the voltage and the frequency of the power, increasing the inductivity and the surface resistivity of the dielectric and decreasing it's thickness can increase the productivity and efficiency of the ozone generator.By analyzing and comparing the existing ozone electrode, the author designed a new one which works on surface discharge method, aided with experiment, the author also specifies Al2O3 as dielectric in the tubular ozone electrode and selects enameling as technological process to coating the dielectric. Under the experimental condition, the single electrode can produce ozone 108.7gO3/kwh, the power efficiency improves 30% comparing with the existing electrode.
