Bis-(β-acryloxyl ethyl)esters of acrylic rosin was synthesized and the application on the mini-emulision polymerization and Ultraviolet Curing technology of which was studied in this paper.First, the acrylic rosin was synthesized from gum rosin and acrylic acid through reaction of Diels-Alder addition. The influence of the molar ratio of rosin acid and acrylic acid on the reaction procedure was studied. UV-VIS and GC-MS analyzed the composing of products.Bis-(β-acryloxyl ethyl)esters of acrylic rosin(ARA) was synthesized by acyl chlorination and esterification .The changing of characteristic groups during the reaction was analyzed with IR.The compositions of product was identified with GC-MS.DSC method was used to investigate the noumenon polymerization of ARA. The polymerization properties and thermal effects with or without initiator (AIBN) was discussed, the result showed that ARA had good polymerization properties.Secondly, the pressure-sensitive adhesive emulsion with soild content of 50% was prepared through the mini-emulision polymerization by addition of ARA and DRG.. It was found that 3.75% ARA can improve the performance of the PSA through proper crosslinking,make the retained time become better,the tack and 180o peel strength be improved. In addition, ARA was added to MMA/BuA through the mini-emulision polymerization, the mechanics performance of acrylate polymers was studied. The result showed that the polymer's glass transition temperature was reduced, and the yield strength of polymer film was also weakened, but their elongation rate and tensile strength were improved. In addition, the polymer's heat resistance was improved through the introduction of ARA.At last, UV cured hybrid nanocomposites of nanosilica/modified acrylpimaric acid rosin were synthesised by mixture the two materials. Mechanical properties of the UV cured film were studied and it was analysized by FTIR,SEM and DSC. The results showed that the addition of nanosilica reduced the crosslinkage and extended the cure time. It also had some influence to the appearace. In addition, a little content of nanosilica particle can improve the pencile hardness and adhesion of the polymer film; the SEM showed nanosilica reunited; DSC showed the addition of nanosilica can improve the glass transition temperature of the polymer.
