Waterborne acrylic resin has the advantages of light color,excellent weather resistance,strong adhesion and high transparency,which is usually used as a binder in water-based ink.Compared with traditional solvent-based ink,water-based ink has attracted much more attention since it is safe and environmentally-friendly.However,at present,there are still a series of problems such as poor water resistance,slow drying and low gloss,which hinder the application and development of waterborne acrylic resin.In view of high viscosity strong adhesion and good water resistance of the natural product rosin,it is widely used as an adhesive in ink.In this paper,acrylic emulsion for water-based ink,which has good stability and strong water resistance are prepared with rosin and acrylic resin.Firstly,the maleic rosin polyethylene glycol ester modifier was synthesized,and then the effects of modification strategies of hard and soft monomers on improving the stability,water resistance and adhesion of emulsion in ink were studied.On this basis,a maleic rosin polyethylene glycol ester/acrylate composite emulsion suitable for water-based surface printing ink was prepared.Finally,a water-based surface printing ink was prepared using the emulsion as a binder.The main work of this paper is as follows:(1)The maleic rosin and polyethylene glycol were used as raw materials,and catalyst to prepare maleic rosin polyethylene glycol ester in N2 atmosphere.The effects of the type and dosage of catalyst,reaction temperature and reaction time on the color and acid value of the product were studied by single factor experiment.Next,the maleic rosin polyethylene glycol ester was analyzed and characterized by FT-IR.The results showed that the maleic rosin polyethylene glycol ester prepared under the optimum conditions has low acid value and light color,and the product was determined to be polyethylene glycol ester of maleic rosin by analyzing and comparing the infrared spectra of polyethylene glycol ester of maleic rosin and polyethylene glycol ester of maleic rosin.(2)The acrylic emulsion was prepared with MMA,BA,AA as main monomers,SDS and OP-10 as emulsifier,KPS as initiator,Na HCO3 as buffer.On this basis,the maleic rosin polyethylene glycol ester/acrylate composite emulsion was prepared and modified by maleate rosin ester emulsion.The effects of the amount of maleic rosin emulsion,the ratio of BA/MMA,the amount of AA,the ratio and usage of OP-10 and SDS,the amount of initiator and the reaction temperature on the granule,solid content,viscosity and stability of the composite emulsion were studied by single factor experiments,and then investigated the influences of these factors on the appearance,adhesion,hardness,water resistance and mechanical properties of the latex film.In addition,the composite emulsion was characterized by dynamic light diffraction(DLS),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),contact Angle measuring instrument and thermogravimetric(TGA).The results show that the maleic rosin polyethylene glycol ester/acrylate composite emulsion has small particle size,narrow distribution,low viscosity and good stability under the optimal conditions.Moreover,the film prepared by maleic rosin polyethylene glycol ester/acrylate composite emulsion is smooth,transparent,good water resistance and strong adhesion.(3)With maleic rosin polyethylene glycol ester/acrylate composite emulsion as the linker,the water-based pigment and various additives were added evenly into the self-made resin linker to prepare water-based ink,and the application performance of water-based ink was studied.The results show that the modified water-based ink has better stability,water resistance and adhesion resistance than the unmodified water-based ink made from acrylic emulsion.
