In view of the present situation in the forming process of composite bushes, such as the backwards of the processing technology, the low precision of composite bushes, this thesis focused on the research of forming process simulation for bilayer composite bushes based on MSC.Marc. The forming processes of bushes were simulated by wrapping ways and entwisting ways respectively, the results were evaluated comprehensively, and the key effects on the forming precision of bilayer composite bushes were studied in detail.Firstly, the researches on the development and application of composite bushes were reviewed; the current research situation of bilayer forming bush and finite element analysis of sheet forming were analyzed; the forming process of bushes was systematically and theoretically analyzed by classical lamination theory. Warping and entwisting forming process were introduced.Secondly, based on finite element theory, two simulation of forming process were established completely for one type of bushes, the simulation process in MSC.Marc were introduced in detail, such as setting material properties, generating mesh and settling contact et al. Furthermore, some problems in the simulation were discussed and handled.Thirdly, the simulated results such as forming quality and forming precision were evaluated by comprehensive ways. For example, dimensional precision was evaluated by using regress. The thickness of the powder layer and model clearance were the key effects on springback, buckling and dimensional error. The results show that the entwisting process is more benefit for high precision bushes compared with the wrapping process. The establishment of finite element models, simulation of wrapping and entwisting process, and comprehensive evaluation of the results in our work will be valuable for the die design, the forming technology and the improvement of the forming precision of composite bushes.
