The leaf springs acts as an important part of the automobile suspension system have been used widely. With the development of the automotive industry, the clients expect for higher geometry and dimensional precision of the leaf spring. Therefore the forming technology should be studied further and systematically in order to forecast, set and control the spring's shape accurately. For the rolling mill is an important machine in leaf springs' producing, the rolling precision would be influenced by its structure, equivalent rigidity and the deformation during the rolling process. Consequently, the forming technology and equipment for producing leaf springs also should be studied.Through the analysis of the forming technics and equipment for taper leaf spring, the concept of variable-data forming was put out. And connected with the practical producing process, the variable rolling methods were summed up. The structure and mechanics characters of the taper leaf spring was analyzed. The biting angle, the length of contact arc and biting condtion were studied for their influence on the roll forming. And the operating principle and composition of the rolling mill was put forward.Finite element analysis is adopted on the basis of the research on frame structure of the rolling mill. Under different rolling force two different kinds of mill-frame structures, the one with the intermediate beam and the other without intermediate beam, were simulated based on ANSYS 11.0. The stress and displacement diagram and value of each element were obtained through finite element analysis. The character of the Y-displacements of the frame with intermediate beam and the frame without were analyzed. And the prestressed mill frame was applied. The structure designing model for beam and upright column were built up. The upright column part was optimized through FEA.The horizontal rollers and the columns were studied, for their influences on the rolling precision. The rollers' steady model were established and analyzed by ANSYS Finite Element Analysis Software. The thermal analysis indicated the distribute rule of thermal field in the roller. And the rollers' thermal-structural coupled analysis was to be analyzed based on thermal field. Then the rule of rollers' displacement and stress field were gained. The importance of the rollers' degree of convexity influenced on the rolling precision was discussed, and the method to establish the curve of the roller surface was put out.The structures of the main parts on the rolling mill were analyzed. And the three-dimensional models of main parts was built up and assembled based on SolidWorks.
