Air nail gun as a kind of portable air tools, has been widely used in various industries such as house decoration, building, etc. Under the condition of incorrect shapes of handles and of the handle-holding ways for a long period of time, will easily caused cumulative trauma disorders. So it is important to reserch and improve the shape of the air nail gun handle.The paper reseaches the application FEM in handle ergonomics evaluation. The stress and elastics strain of the hand reflects the ergonomics problem of the handle. According to the results, considering the anatomy of hand, Anthropometry and the priciple of the handle design, it does the improvment design for the hadle shape and analysis again. Compare to the results, it indicates that the FEM is the effective method of the handle ergonomics evaluation and guiding the shape design. Then it is proposed the principle of the handle shape design. Furthermore, the paper discussed the influence of the handle-holding ways to the hand fatigue.
