Water mist fire suppression system has been one of the most important study items on fire technique because of its characteristics of no environmental pollution, quick fire suppression, less water usage and water damage on the objects protected. However, the study on gaseous fire suppression is not rich and deep contrast with the study on solid and liquid fire suppression by water mist. And the study had always been focus on the premixed gas. To widen the application range of water mist suppression system and develop the mechanism of gaseous fire suppression by water mist, the paper researched the fire suppression caused by indoor fuel gas leakage using water mist, which was part premixed burning intervenient premixed and diffused gas burning. The real significance was more notable. In this paper ,a simplified model was found by abstracting the reality of fire firstly. Then the difference of gaseous fire indoor without water mist and with water mist was compared and analyzed. Meanwhile, the paper studied the different fire suppression effect using water mist with different diameter, flux and the one sprayed by different number and position nozzles. All the studies above were done in the way of experiment combined with numerical simulation.A great deal of date was analyzed in this paper, and several conclusions were found as following. The first, the numerical simulation results agreed well with the experimental ones, which meant that the study method of numerical simulation was satisfying. The second, the temperature, the speed of flame spreading, the production formulation rate in the field and the thermal radiation to side walls were fallen clearly by water mist compared without water mist. The third, the water mist with different diameter, different flux or sprayed by different number and position nozzles would make different effect on the gaseous fire suppression.
