Numerical control pipe-cutting machines are pivotal equipments in producing ocean platform jacket components. After study on new imported machine of China Petroleum Platform Manufacturing Company, the research focuses on developing an automatic software system of autonomous intellectual property and a remote control system, which gets rid of inconvenience and incompleteness of jacket joint intersecting curve models in software system enclosed with the imported machine. The research aims at equipping a convenient and automatic software system to the new imported NC pipe-cutting machine.Firstly, through analysis of overseas and domestic actuality of numerical control technology and characteristics of pipe cutting machines, conception and practical meanings of developing control system by DCL and Visual LISP are put forward in this dissertation. The system can extract data directly from drawing files of AutoCAD,draw the place expansion map of intersecting lines,and then generate NC codes automatically. The system provides a new programming method, which greatly increases automation degree and efficiency of the coding as a result.The system also draws a much closer connection between CAD and CAM,and proposes a brand-new software realization method for numerical controller of the pipe cutter。Secondly, the files are carried from far away on internet by application of class CSocket supplied by VC++. This might fulfill the separation between design and manufacture, save the cost greatly, and promote utilizing resources effectively. The study fulfills alteration of control system while keeping the original mechanical structure unchanged and then presents the hardware and software configurations of control system.This project is from actual manufacturing problems of ocean and petroleum industry. Its advantages and wide foregrounds are to be exhibitted with deeper research.
