The great quantity of heat produced in the grinding process always cannot be transported in the depth of the work-piece, gets together on the surface which can result in high temperature in part, and has a great influence on the quality of the work-piece surface and the capability. The grinding temperature-field is systematically studied in this paper and the grinding temperature distribution is simulated using the finite element method (FEM).The key works and mean results in this paper include:(1)The boundary layer's differential equation group of the convection heat transfer coefficient has been constructed based on the theory of fluid dynamics and the boundary layer theory; and the convection heat transfer coefficient is got through which we can find that the convection heat transfer coefficient decreases as the increasing of the cut depth and rise as the increasing of the grinding speed; the work-piece speed has a little influence on the convection heat transfer coefficient;(2)The model of the heat partitions fraction to the work piece, grinding fluid, grinding chips and wheel has been deduced, combined with the model of the convection heat transfer coefficient, then the maximum temperature of the grinding-field can be got;(3)By means of FEM, the dry and wet grinding temperature-field model is got, which provides the theory foundation for the further research of the grinding temperature, especially of the wet-grinding temperature field; and the simulation research is made by means of the FEM analysis software ANSYS for the wet-grinding temperature distribution and the three dimensional topology map of the temperature distribution is got; after researching such results can be got: the grinding temperature rises as the grinding depth increases; first rises and then decreases as increasing the grinding speed; decreases as the increasing of the work-piece speed. The study on the effect of the grinding speed,work-piece speed and cut depth on the temperature distribution indicates that the effect of cut depth is heavier than the grinding speed and work-piece speed; (4)Temperature is measured with the clamped thermocouple in different grinding speed,work-piece speed and cut depth, the experimental result is approximately suitable to the simulated result except the error of instrument. In this paper the grinding temperature distribution is analyzed by FEM and it is more convenient than through the analytical method, which provides a good method for the analysis of the similar problems. The distribution theory of the temperature field and its simulation model put forward in this paper will promote the development of the research of the grinding temperature field。...
