This paper mainly discussed and studied aging resistance of reconsolidated bamboo flooring from two aspects.First, according to ASTM D 1037 accelerated aging method which was used widely in the field of wood-based products, it was concluded that reconsolidated bamboo flooring had good aging resistance performance. In the aspect of static mechanical properties, preserved values of MOR,MOE and compression strength parallel to grain of the aged panels (the panels coated with UV-curing varnish) were all above 60%. In the aspect of water-resistance properties, 24-hours water absorption was 8.67%, and thickness swelling after 24-hours water uptake was 5.52%. Besides, aging resistance performance of the two new coatings used in wood products showed well, for the performances of the aged reconsolidated bamboo floorings coated with the two new coatings were better than the one coated with UV-curing varnish. Preserved values of MOR,MOE and compression strength parallel to grain of the aged panels coated with the new paints were all above 85%. 24-hours water absorption was 4.62%, 4.58%, and thickness swelling after 24-hours water uptake was1.72%, 1.74%. In the aspect of paint film performance, the two new coatings differed little compared with the UV-curing varnish. Wear resistance of film of these three coatings decreased obviously after accelerated aging, most of which were mainly degraded after completion of the second cycle, the fourth cycle and the sixth cycle. Preserved values of abrasion resistance for coating film of these three were about 50%.Second, this part discussed the effects of processing parameter on the aging resistance of reconsolidated bamboo flooring. According to orthogonal experiments and range analysis and variance analysis, it showed that processing parameter had influence on MOR,MOE and compression strength parallel to grain before and after accelerated aging, but had no influence on 24-hours water absorption and thickness swelling after 24-hours water absorption. Comprehensive consideration suggested that the optimum processing parameters ( hot-pressing temperature, time and pressure ) should be 140℃, 20min, 5MPa.
