In automatic production line for the brake base of Auto & Motorcycle, it is required to measure the product's parameters with high speed and high efficiency. A Numerical Control System is researched as well as an NC measuring machine for discoid Parts is developed in this paper. In sum, this paper is organized as follows.First, the development of NC system at home and abroad, the classification and the developing trend of NC system are introduced in the beginning of this paper. Meanwhile, the content and significance of the project are expounded.Second, the hardware and software of STAR-06T (ZP) based on the Windows operating system are studied in this paper. Furthermore, the technology of realtime contrls, multi-tasking, dynamic link library as well as information processing in the numerical controls system are deeply analysed. Then, the NC system function module such as the bottom of control systems, machine's adjustment, monitoring and diagnosis, parameter settings are discussed in detail. Thus the NC system named STAR-06T (ZP) is formed.Third, an NC automatic measuring machine is developed which includes STAR-06T (ZP) as the core parts. The mechanical structure and control structure are discussed in detail. This machine includes STAR-06T (ZP), Laser-Triangulation displacement meter, a data acquisition board, etc. The feeding movement of X/Z axis and the rotation movement of C axis are driven by the STAR-06T (ZP). When the detection axis (X/Z/C axis) moved onto the products, the non-contact Laser-Triangulation displacement meter obtains about 3400 displacement data in a testing cycle through the triangulation reflecting principle. Then, in order to reduce the effect of abnormal disturbance, the least square curve fitting and five-spot cubic smoothing methods are used to smooth these data. Then, use Database to store, query and generate data reports, use the law of large numbers theory to analyse capability of engineering, and so on. Thus the NC measuring machine for discoid Parts is achieved.This machine has been successfully applied to the automatic production line for the brake base's parameters measuring. The accuracy and efficiency are highly improved in its application.
