A tension control system for the web-fed gravure press features non-linear,strong coupling and great dynamic change.The moment of inertia will change while the diameter,the width,the density of the unwinding and winding changes.The dynamic parameters will chang greatly if the unwinding and winding material changes.So it's difficult to obtain the perfect control effect if we use general PID control strategy.This paper presents a reasonable control system and studies the control system according to the work principle and the characters of the tension control system for the web-fed gravure press.The main contents and innovations are as follows:1.The mathematic model of each part was established.2.The main factors which affact tension control were analyzed.3.Several control strategies and contrl effects were compared.4.An self adaptive PID controller based on the fuzzy principle was designed,It can change the parameter value(K_P,K_I,K_D)according to the differential and the rate of differential's chang in real time.5.Based on the Matlab software and it's simulink toolbox,a simulation system of the mathematic model was established.The simulation result showed that adaptive PID control based on the fuzzy principle had better control effect than the PID control strategy used in ShanXi Printing Machine Factory.6.New control strategy was adopted instead of old control strategy used in ShanXi Printing Machine Factory in the winding roll.7.Hardware of the tension control system was designed.It is consists of power,circuit board,frequency conversion,three phase alternating current motor and so on.The tension control imitative experiment was carried out.The experiment results showed that self-adaptive PID control based on the fuzzy principle has better control effect than the PID control strategy used in ShanXi Printing Machine Factory.
