In modern underground mine engineering, the primary concerns of the enterprise managers are how to construct underground audio communication system, video monitoring system, personnel & equipment tracking system and so on. Underground integrated communications technology has gradually developed aiming at tackling these problems, and it will lead to great changes in mining enterprise in China. The construction of underground integrated communications system not only matters for the safety of underground production, but also lays significance in building the information and network systems of the mining enterprise.Underground integrated communications system is studied based on multidiscipline, in which knowledge concerning not only mining, but also computer network and communication technologies are needed. In writing this thesis, the following aspects have been emphatically studied:(1) The theory and patterns of underground wireless transmitting technology has been analyzed through reading various reference books. Meanwhile, wireless transmitting anti-fading technology has been studied;(2) Underground integrated communications system has been constructed based on wireless LAN technology. By comparison and analysis between wire and wireless networks, the latter has been chosen. In this paper, the principle of wireless LAN, the protocol standard adopted, network topology structures, ramble technology, as well as the management and distribution of IP address are primarily stated. Meanwhile, the security and reliability of wireless LAN has been studied and corresponding solutions have been put forward.(3) Fiber communication technology has been adopted. Based on the theory and the networking method of fiber communication technology, a ring-shaped network structure of the underground trunk network has been constructed. The wireless LAN constructed by fiber communication technology effectively solves the problems existing in traditional leak cable communication, and thus it will become the developing direction of future underground communication in China due to its advantages.In the later part of this thesis, DAHONGSHAN Copper Mine has been mentioned to illustrate the successful construction of DAHONGSHAN underground integrated communications system by making full use of mature wireless LAN technology and fiber communication technology.
