Railway garbage is solid waste which produced the railway station and train by passenger. With the development of railway career qucikly, the railway garbage is increasing yearly. Railway garbage have polluted surroundings of the railway station and railroad. So Railway garbage management problem has already become one of serious problems.Incineration treatment is one of the main technologies to achieve volume duction, but there is problem of decay, fetor, transport and stockpile. Making railway garbage into RDF(waste derive fuel) could solve these problems, the technology have applied abroad.Railway garbage have the high combustible material, the high heat vaule and low ash, making the combustible material into RDF is a good way to reuse the mined refuse. There are many merits of RDF such as steady combustion,high heat value, easy for conservation and transport. After adding the CaO or other additives to RDF can reduce the concertration of HCl and dioxins during the combustion. In the paper, experiments on drying and moulding of railway garbage were done on the oven, to provide reference for drying technology and moulding conditions.The research is carried out to study the railway garbage from diffent area, scale of railway station and season. By experiments, the mian results as follows:The proportion of the food draff in the railway garbage is the mostly 50%, and the plastic and waste paper take the second place, mostly 20%. the component of railway garbage is simple, the heat value is high,so it is suitable for incineration.Experment investigations were performed for different temperatures (from 100℃to 180℃) and volumes. The aims were to determine a seies of drying performance curve and analyzed influences of various factors on the drying process. The RDF was made from coal and railway garbage with a steel piston mold under room temperature. Tests were chosen with orthogonal L9 (34) .Dropping intensity and heating stability of the RDF were used to assess the influence of the factors. Study results indicated the optimal parameters obrained from the study were 75KN of briquette pressure, 10%of moisture,7mm granularity and 20% of coal.
