In recent years,with the exaltation of people's life level and the changes of food structure,diabetes mellitus(DM)has become the third major disease after Cardiovascular disease and Oncological diseases.The illness rates have been rising year by year.Shenge Jiangtang Capsule was mainly composed with Radix Puerariae and to American ginseng cure typeⅡdiabetes mellitus.It was based on the ancient typical recipes of curing diabetes and combined with modem pharmacological research methods to optimizeits active compo-nents.Our subject covers preparation procedure,quality standard and pharmacodynamics mechanism of Shenge Jiangtang Capsule on DM.First,different category method of preparing capsule were studied depending on moisture,absorption and fluidity.The formulation process has been researched the type and dosage of the excipient and process conditions,And then the moisture, disintegration time and content uniformity were determined.The characteristic compositions were taken as the indexs with TLC to identify the quality of prepared Radix panacis quinquefol and Radix puerariae lobatae.The contents of Puerarin and Ginsenoside Rb1,Ginsenoside Re,Ginsenoside Rg1 in the granule were determined with high performance liquid chromatograpy(HPLC).Small amount of production of Shenge Jiangtang Capsule showed that preparation process was reasonable and practical,the quality was controllable.We rendered mice insulin resistant and diabetic by feeding high glucose and fat diet 4 weeks together with minidose peritoneal injection of STZ and then we treated it with Yangshen Jiangtang Capsule 1 month.Then we observed the effects of the drugs on FBG,serum insulin,insulin sensitivity index,TC,TG,FFA,serum Leptin,serum TNF-αin IR rats with type 2 diabetes mellitus.It turned out that Yangshen Jiangtang Capsule can reduce FBG and insulin in blood serum,meanwhile increase insulin sensitivity index,and can descend TC,TG,FFA,serum Leptin,serum TNF-α.So Shenge Jiangtang Capsule can improve I R condition in typeⅡdiabetes from multi-target and multi-element.
