3-Dimension Modeling For Offshore Platform By Second Development Of SolidWorks With VB Language

This paper mainly discusses the application on second development with VB of the 3D design software-SolidWorks, to establish 3D offshore platform model automatically and rapidly, and to simulate the installation and remove of the offshore platform.The second development with VB have make use of API (Application Programming Interface) supported by SolidWorks. Parameterized and automatic establishing 3D mode of the offshore platform is carried out by setting up standard structure template and extending MicroSoft Office Access as the Engineering DataBase, which reduce the workload and time of the design.During the first stage, system's total aims and main functions are defined. Thorough feasibility analysis and requirement analysis are carried through, and finally the whole system scheme is obtained. Then during the system analysis phase, several regular methods are compared to figure out the appropriate one. Using the IDEF0, system functions are decomposed and classified to set up system's logic model, namely function model. The system is decomposed into several modules. The data stream is found and analyzed to establish the data model and database of the system. During the last phase, system programming of code design and interface design are accomplished by VB language, and the whole system is encapsulated as a consummate software.Examples of structure entity model that are established by this system indicate that: this system not only can make establishment of 3D offshore platform model more automatical and parameterized, but also can be simplely and conveniently operated and learned. It realizes the storage, manager and share of structural engineering data. Designer also can simulate the installation and remove of the platform. It has great significance to design 3D platform model, expedite design and dynamic simulation and so on.
