Networked Control System For CO₂ Welding Based On Double MCU

With the development of information and Internet technology, the digital-control and network-management of welding process had became mature, which has the great value in engineering.In the production process, arc welding is separate and man-made, there are no contact among equipments, which causes great personal error factor and has poor process supervisory ability, and causes poor quality stability. Therefore, to carry out normative production and a kind of Network-based automatic monitoring system are necessary to increase production efficiency and improve production quality.According to the requirements of production, a new kind of network control system for CO₂ welding based on double MCU is developed based on the quondam equipment, which has double MCU. With the technique of Ethernet and digital-control, arc welding process information, such as electric current and voltage, wire feed rate, can be presented on the interface of PC. With the help of the controller, equipments can be controlled by the way of the set on PC interface. for example, through the set of current waveform and frequency, spatter can be induced. At the same time, with the help of controller, constant voltage can be get by the negative feedback, in ording to cater external characteristic of CO₂ welding.The monitoring and managing program of main computer is developed on the basis of LabVIEW, which can carry out the Network-based automatic monitoring in a long distance.The results of test show that the function of controller have attained the requirement of design, and the useful function of welding machine has been expanded. The implenent of that system provides vital meaning for supervision in production flow and level of network and information in production process.
