Now ultrasonic machining is a good method to machine hard and brittle material, such as glass,diamond,engineering ceramics etc.But the traditional ultrasonic machining method can only be used to drill hole and copy machining.It can't satisfy the need of moderu machining because the structure of work piece is becoming more complex,and this needs multi-axis harmonious motion to machine some complex surface.This thesis studies the ultrasonic machining,integrating a set of open NC system.NC ultrasonic machining hardware system is built by double CPU(master and servant) system which is a combination of Industrial Personal computer(IPC) and Programmable Multi-Axis Controller(PMAC).Software system is NC application programmed by VC++6.0 under the windows 2000.It integrates four function modules including configuration,design,online control and manufacture.Every module is combined by DLL,which are easy to be increased and decreased.Such system fully manifests its open feature.At the same time,this paper discusses the manufacture of one kind of surface which has regular curved generatrix as its section.This subject includes constant section line extruding surface,constant section curve scanning surface,cylinder and spherical surface.As well,this paper introduces three methods of curved surface.One is line cut & layer machining,another is section cut & layer machining and the third is cylinder & layer machining.This paper analyses the reasons which result from the cut and layer machinery and give some measures of enhancing machining accuracy.
