Metallic complex formed by heterocyclic compounds or heterocyclic compounds containing N group as ligands have attracted extensive attentions in the fields of coordination chemistry, biochemistry, design of medicines and material science, due to their novel structures and unique functions. My work is described in bellow.1. The design, synthesis and characterization of novel derivatives of benzimidazole and complexesSix novel derivatives of benzimidazole 1,1'-bi(1-benzimidazole)ethane(LA1),1,1'-bi(1-benzimidazole)propane(LA2), 1,1'-bi(1-benzimidazole)butane(LA3), 1,1'-bi (1-benzimidazole)ether(LA4), 2,2'-bi(1-benzimidazole)(LB1), 2,2'-bi(1-benzimidazo- le)methane(LB2) were synthesized and characterized by elementary analysis, IR and NMR. And LA and LB are characterized by UV. LA1, LA3 and LA4 are characterized by X-ray single crystal diffraction analysis. Series of transition metal complexes were synthesized from ligands LA1. And compounds LA1 and LA4 are found have good biological activities.2. The design, synthesis of novel 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline complexesEight novel complexes obtained from 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenan-throline and adipic acid [Cu2(C14H12N2)2(C4O4H2)Cl2(H2O)4](Ld1), [Mn2(C14H12N2)2(C4O4H2) (CH3COO)2(H2O)2](Ld2), [Fe2(C14H12N2)2(C4O4H2)(NO3)4(H2O)2](Ld3), [Ni2(C14H12 N2)2(C4O4H2)Cl2(H2O)2](Ld4), [(NO3)(C14H13N2)](Le1), [Ag(C14H12N2)2(NO3)](Le2), [Co(C14H12N2)(NO3)2(H2O)](Le3) and [Fe(C14H12N2)(NO3)2(H2O)](Le4) were prepared and the crystal structure of Ld1, Ld2, Le1, Le2, Le3 and Le4 were characterized by X-ray diffraction. The complexes of Ld3 and Ld4 were characterized by elementary analysis and IR.The interaction between complexes Ld1, Ld3, Le3and DNA was studied by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). The electrochemical experimental results indicate that these complexes could interact with DNA and they are good indicator for DNA biosensor.3. Studies on the thermal prosperities of compoundsThermogravimetric (TG) analysis and differential thermogravimetric (DTG) analysis were performed on Ld3, Ld4 and LA1. The thermal stability of the five compounds can be observes from the analysis curve.
