Electrical discharged machining (EDM) power, who provides the voltage to breakdown the processing the medium and provide the power to corrode the metal after breakdown, is one of the key facilities for the technological indexes; and its performance directly affected the EDM speed , accuracy,stability,workpiece surface roughness and electrode process ability. Digitalized power can be controlled flexibly, can achieve higher accuracy and stability and better interface compatibility. This paper designed one digitalized EDM power system based on DSP.First, designed the main circuit for high frequency switching power supply, including EMI filter, high frequency transformer and half-bridge invertor,etc. Used the high frequency power MOSFET as main switch, increased switching frequency, decreased the volume and EMI.Second, designed the control circuit based on TMS320LF2407,high-performance DSP of TI company, including sampling, protecting circuits,etc, laid foundation for software design; and designed the assistant power system based on TOPSwitch, to provide power for DSP and peripheral circuits, decreased its volume and increased its efficiency.Then, compiled the bottom application pogroms, including A/D sampling and filtering, PWM signal, SCI communication, PID controlling, etc, employed software to complete the control task , so it was easy to upgrade and saved cost .Last, built the guiding rules database and the upper computer software, achieved the goals of real time communication between upper and bottom computer, intelligent selection of rules, the control parameters adjusting, improved the intelligent level of EDM.The results of debugging indicated that the modules designed meet the requirements and offered a platform for further research.
