The Application Of FEA In The Fine-blanking Die Structure Design

Fine-blanking is a new field of stamping. Cleaner cuts and less warping can be got. However, there are often failures such as punch tipping and fracture in the fine-blanking dies during the manufacturing. The fine-blanking die structure is important and it will determine the development and promotion of the fine-blanking. So FEA of the fine-blanking die structure should be implemented to find the cause of the failures.The mechanics status of fine-blanking and the structure of typical fine-blanking dies are researched in this thesis. The loading curves of the fine-blanking force are analyzed and the most suitable processing status for finite element analysis is advanced. According to the specific requirements of finite element analysis, the methods to simplify the models are summarized, and the stress region splitting of CAD models with the use of calculation data in DEFORM 3D is carried out.According to the special geometrical part feature and integral structures of some typical fine-blanking dies, the methods for adjusting the mesh density and shape are summarized. In FEA, the methods, such as how to choose the contact behavior and define the key constants in contact setting between the parts, are discussed. The approach that doing FEA in some important punches with ANSYS software firstly and then in integral dies with ANSYS Workbench Environment is advanced, and obtain reasonable calculation results. Some suggestion in fine-blanking die optimizing is promoted.The concept of collaborative CAE are introduced in this thesis,and it has been implemented in the study. The fine-blanking die collaborative CAE system frame plan is put forward.
