Fine blanking is an advanced processing method developed on the basis of the ordinary blanking techniques. It can form the flat parts with high quality, high efficiency, low cost and wide range of other characters. However, because of the complexity of die structure, the die design by experience alone will often lead to two problems: low quality and short cycle. Therefore, improving the life of dies by using finite element software to analyze and optimize is a pressing task.Research situation and development trend of the fine blanking technology are summarized in this thesis. The principle of fine blanking and the characteristics of ANSYS Workbench software are introduced. Two typical dies including the'Z1 tooth plate'and'ratchet'are analyzed in ANSYS Workbench Environment. The data of the stress and deformation of the dies are obtained. The importance and the difficulty about contacts setting of ANSYS Workbench in the analysis and optimization are studied.Variation technology is introduced to solve the problem of optimizing single die part rapidly. That using design of experiments to optimize complex assembly is also investigated. With the main dimensions of dies as design variables, the stress and deformation of the dies as the objective function, the dimensions of the dies can be optimized by optimizing analysis. Compared with primary result, the deformation and stress optimized are reduced at the same forces and boundary conditions.
