The wavy plate heat exchanger is used widely in so many fields,especially in the sector of heating or cooling flowing grains,because of its high efficiency.At present the existing researches are mainly concentrated on the heat transfer efficiency between adjacent wavy plates and flow characteristics in those,while the disquisitions about distribution of the stress on the plate in the process of forming and working are little,which is complicated as a result of existence of welded spots,especially near the joints.Even some stress concentrations are there someplace and those reduce the intensity of the wavy plates.Can not endure higher intensity is the problem that limits the application of the exchanger.Some different finite element models of wavy plates are presented in this paper,and a new method about defining forming pressure,that equals to three times of working pressure, is put forward in the process of building those.Analysis is carried on based on the definition above.Accurate transmutation of the plate,matching the practical case,is shown,which supports the theoretical basis when someone intends to build a planar or three-dimensional model of wavy plate formed.Two kinds of finite element models,with different structure,are analyzed in this paper: wavy plate with and without seal welds.Distances between welded spots are different in every kind of models,which are 40mm,50mm,and 60mm.There are six models of wavy plates in a word.Six paths are defined on every plate with the help of ANSYS software.The distribution of the stress on every path is simulated which follow some kind of rules.Through more analyzing the places where biggest equivalent stress(Von Mises Stress in this paper) and stress concentration exist are found out.The stresses in different position of the plate under various pressures are measured,with the help of electrical test method,to validate the result of simulation before is right or not. The result shows the accuracies of the numerical simulation,and the simulation method for wavy plate is effective to study the distribution of stress on the plate.
