As production layout of iron and steel enterprises is not continuous,different manufacturers have adopted different heat preservation for hot delivery and hot charging of electric billets.According to the literature,hot delivery and hot charging of electric billets is an important measure for iron and steel industry for saving energy, lowering energy consumption,and improving the quality of products.Currently,there are three main methods of hot delivery and hot charging of electric billets in terms of manufacture technics:(1) through the roller cover stamping the form of insulation billets transmission,this type of insulation is best,running costs are lower,but adapted to not too far distance transmission due to the higher price;(2) using clamshell-style incubator hot billet of motor transport.Restrictions on the way from the venue, moderate investment costs.However,the effect of investment in insulation is not very well,and operating costs is high,it is not suitable for large-scale production practices; (3) train carrier insulation billets.This method is free of site constraints,and cost is low, and it is suitable for large-scale production.So it is the major method adopted by manufacturers.According to the plan of a certain company,electric furnace steel plant is required to achieve an annual molten steel output of 208 die after construction of additional electric furnace and continuous casting bloom.Considered of the existing electric furnace and the continuous casting billet production capacity,added annual electric furnace molten steel output of 1,042,000 tons of steel,and billet continuous casting machine annual output of 1 million tons capacity,electric bloom need to be sent to steel mill system by insulation train,and use insulation board to transport heat shield bloom.Therefore,the project intends to adopt the method of train transportation of bloom furnace insulation.The main content of this paper is as following:reconstruct the existing rail trolley transformation;design heat enclosures in accordance with the actual situation;produce security and stability lifting structure;design heat insulation cover structure in accordance with the temperature requirements of the transport distance; product insulation covers;cold test of iron crank,thermal test of vehicles;and improve the design according to tests results to ensure the security and stability operation and to reach the purpose of saving energy and reducing consumption.The most important thing is to design a reasonable and safe insulation cover to achieve long service life as possible adapted to frequently open and close operation.
