At present, most domestic NC (Numerical Control) systems have adopted the text programming; this requested the user to master their command, so the efficiency of programming was low and could not meet the need of the workshop. Because the efficiency of NC programming directly influenced process's, the key technology of the interactive programming in NC system have been studyed and applied in the essay, in order to improve the efficiency of programming and simplify the programming process.Some repeated operation about lathe in workshop have been analyzed and studied, then those,M code and so on would be abstracted and concluded into several different types of conversation, on this basis the specific plan of realizing about conversation programming(CP) system have been proposed aiming at the workshop level programming. It could manage the conversation files, edit the conversations, and transform the conversation files into NC code and so on. The system have a good man-machine interactive interface, the programming for NC could be easily implemented after choosing the type of conversation, inputting geometry, rough and finish parameters.For enriching the function of CP system, the method of the free contour cycle turning has been studied, and proposed the idea of design and corresponding geometry algorithm about that. In addition, on the basis of studying the thread repairing, proposed the plan about automatic or manual tool adjusting for that, and add the plan into the CP system.The TEACH-IN played an important role in CP system. On the basis of studying the principle about that, the TEACH-IN has been developed. The path handwheel has been absorbed and the case-by-point comparison interpolation algorithm has been applied to the track interpolation calculating. Realizing the idea that while moving one axis, the other could move accordingly and recording the user's manual operation to the program in time.At last, accordding to above, on the platform of the Huazhong NC lathe system, an interactive programming system has been developed, achieved the function about CP and TEACH-IN, expanded the scope of NC programming and improved the programming efficiency. The interactive programming system has a very good practical value.
