FEM(Finite Element Analysis) is a fast and good efficient design tool in modern engineering analysis and design.The application of Finite Element Analysis and structure optimum etc CAE technology is significant in shortening the period of production development,reducing the cost of the manufacture and improving the enterprise competitibe abilitu.The TK6916 NC Boring and Milling machine spindle box is research object.The spindle boxes are researched with general finite analysis software ANSYS.The NC boring and milling spindle box solid models have been built through 3 dimension software.The finite element models of spindle boxes with two types of structure have been proposed based on the finite element software. The spindle boxes displacement and stress have been computed.The results show that the intensity of two spindle boxes are good ,there are enough potential to resist been destroyed;the boturated spindle box has small displacemeng and can get high machining accuracy.The modal analysis had been performed.The results express that the spindle box natural frequency is small and the neighbor order frequencies is notably different.The spindle box must be improved in the dynamic characteristics.With combination of FEA and optimization design,reducing the spindle box's weight as the optimum design with two practical and efficient optimization design methods.
