The Application Of Ecological Footprint Method On Northeast Area's Sustainable Development Research

The measure and assessment of sustainable development has always been a hot point of sustainable development research,the study's inner part is to calculate the human load exceed the global carrying capacity or not.The ecological footprint method was improved by Canadian ecological economist William E.Rees and his student Wackernagel Mathis in 1996. Based on the theory and calculation method,some indexes were introduced to calculate ecologically productive area that human occupied in order to maintain survival,and then appraises the influence that human effect on the global ecosystem.The ecological footprint method provides a new view for the studying and measuring of the sustainable development, and has been widely applied.The area's resource and energy is transformed into ecologically productive area(ecological footprint),and then compared with the ecologically productive area that the area could provide.At last judge the area's development weather within the ecological carry capacity.This paper I searched the yearbooks of Heilongjiang,Jilin and Liaoning province and find the relative indexes.Then calculated three provinces' ecological footprint,appraised the sustainable development degree.I apply the grey system theory to predict the development tendency from the year 2008 to 2017.In the end I proposed some advice and policy to the sustainable developmentThis paper can be divided into three parts.The first part contains the paper's chapter 1 and chapter 2,mainly about the ecological footprints theory and the methods of calculating,the research condition at home and abroad, the methodâ… applied in this paper.The second part contains the paper's chapter 3 and chapter 4,this is the main part of the paper.In this partâ… introduce the research area and then calculate the ecological footprint and ecological carrying capacity of northeast area from the year 1987 to 2007,and then predict the development.The third part contains the paper's chapter 5 and chapter 6.â… analysis the sustainable condition of the northeast area and then propose my advice to sustainable development.
