Pumping unit as the oil industry's most important construction machinery, but in its design process, the machine performance parameters can not be predicted ahead of time, unable to be made an effective evaluation of machine performance; and its low level of digital management; for these reasons,we rely on the Third Machine Tool Plant, with its production of certain models of pumping units for the project background, the use of virtual prototyping technology, namely the establishment of multi-rigid-body and multi-unit flexible virtual prototyping system for simulation, and its kinematics, Kinetic parameters and mechanical analysis of the key components of its evaluation of machine analysis; particularly "hanging rope" of the dynamics simulations, can effectively resolve the issue of the measured load to be done; at the same time to speed up the level of digital design for series production of its components, and the degree of standardization is not high, parts information management, query is complex, we develop a set of digital information management system, which is an effective solution to the CAD / CAE / CAM requirements of collaborative production, for Pumping unit design and manufacturing industry, the approach is also useful to add.In this paper, the organic integration of database technology and secondary development technology; the integration of finite element technology and virtual prototyping technology; the separate study of rigid-flexible and multi-body system, from the "system" height to analyse the whole mechine; the means of computer simulation, on-site comparison and feedback, make the simulation system more realistic and scientific.
