Compared with conventional fluorescence spectrometry, the synchronous fluorescence spectrometry has many features, such as simplifying the spectrum, promoting the selectivity, reducing the light scattering interference. It is particularly suitable for the analysis of multi-component mixtures. Furthermore, it is an effective analysis method for detection trace persistent organic pollutants (POPs) such as the PAH_s, PCB_s in the environment. In terms of BaP detection which features high carcinogenicity and high harmfulness, it is great significant to develop and research the simple and rapid testing methods with a high sensitivity. In this thesis, a new and quick method was proposed for detecting the BaP qualitatively and quantitatively using constant-wavelength synchronous fluorescence spectrometry. The fluorescence spectra of 16 PAH_s issued by EPA and their mutually interferential conditions had been investigated. Meanwhile, only BKF generated the interference for the BaP fluorescence spectrum. The clear fluorescence spectra of BaP and BKF were obtained by optimizing the experimental conditions. The results show that under the conditions of N-hexane as the solvent, excitation/emission slit =5/5, PMT voltage was 600V,△λwas 137nm, the fluorescence spectra of BaP and BKF feature more simplicity, strong fluorescence signal, narrow half-peak width, high resolution of the spectrum, and no interference from the other peak. Because of overlap of fluorescence spectra of BaP and BKF, on the basis of Lambert-Beer law, the quantitative relative equation was established regarding the fluorescence intensity and the concentration. The concentration of BaP or BKF was respectively got by simultaneously one-step scanning. The preciousness of this method was investigated. The results show that the value of RSD of BaP and BKF are 3.42% and 3.48%, respectively; their LOD are 0.8206ng/mL and 0.1256ng/mL, respectively; their linearity are ranged from 0.0006 to 0.250ppm and from 0.0007 to 0.040ppm, respectively. In order to verify the feasibility of method proposed here, its experimental results were compared with HPLC. The average value and preciousness of these two methods had no significant difference through T-test, and these two methods could replace each other and this method was feasible.
