For a long time, Magnesium Alloy has been thought as a material that is easy to process (especially in our country), because of its low cutting force and low cutting power during the processing. But it is found out of long experience that it is just opposite. The main reason is that the crumbs produced in the processing are flammable. Even more, there could be an explosion. There are also strict requirements in the environment and the way of processing.Sometimes the crumbs are stick to the cutting tool, which could leads to build-up edge. It will affect the quality of the surface, and the wear of the cutting tool could be a lot.This passage states the cutting mechanism and the technics of AZ91D Magnesium Alloy with a detailed analysis by a lot of practice. And there is a deep investigation of cutting force, form, wear of the cutting tool and cutting mechanism, which can offer a scientific basis to decide the cutting parameter of the composition of forces when safely and effectively turning AZ91D.The content of investigation:1.Measure the dynamic cutting force of AZ91D Magnesium Alloy. Analyze the effect of cutting force with completely random design according to the experimental formula.2.Collect the crumbs and analyze the cutting form from both the macroscopic and microcosmic perspectives, so as to reveal the rules cutting parameter affecting the cutting form, and discuss the essence of cutting mechanism, cutting force and surface roughness relevant to the course of processing.3.Through the wear experiment, investigate the form of wear and invalidation, analyze the wear mechanism, measure the capability of the cutting tool.4.Reveal the factors affecting the surface roughness, analyze the reasons, optimize the parameter by measuring the roughness and the microcosmic appearance of the processed surface.The results show that it is effective to predict the cutting force when establishing an experiential formula. This could ensure the safe manufacture, and the static analysis of the cutting tool wear, cutting form and roughness offers a scientific basis on the low-cost, high-quality and effective manufacture of AZ91D.
