The inner panel of automotive suspension belongs to automobile panel,with large dimensions and complicated shapes,parts can not be made through one process. For the multi-process parts, drawing die geometry parameters of the die-face are difficult to determine. Process design needs to consider not only current process requirements but also consider the impact of follow-up process.According to the characteristics of parts forming, design a reasonable process of forming. The design of Stamping direction, draw bead, trimming line and the positioning of trimming part were illustrated.Numerical simulation to multi-process can save test and time cost, also can provided for the parameter optimization of conditions. Traditional die-face designs more rely on experiences, does not consider the mapping function between process parameters and finite element simulation results, and seek the optimum process parameters is very difficult. The optimization algorithms of the sheet metal forming process by using a response surface method was described; The design variables, the objective functions, the constraints and the multi-objectives optimization approach for the sheet metal forming optimization were presented. An application of the inner panel of automotive suspension was used to demonstrate this method of die-face designs. The object was defined as the least blank thickness; The variables were defined as the die-face geometric parameters;The constraints were defined as the FLD. A system with the aim to assist the decision of process parameters for making a sheet metal which has better formability for stamping is realized.With the final optimal parameters, the process of the stamping was designed. As results, a practically stamping with the optimization parameters produced a good part.
